Tabs and Adyen Partner to Bring Payments Into the Entire Revenue Lifecycle

Adyen is the first payments partner behind Tabs Pay, Tabs’ new embedded payments product. Together, the two are connecting billing, collections, and cash so finance teams can get paid without switching systems.

Finance teams have a payments problem that rarely gets discussed. Invoices are created in one system, payments are processed in another, and someone on the finance team spends hours reconciling the two. For growing businesses with subscriptions, usage-based pricing, and custom contracts, that gap gets wider with every new customer.

Today Tabs announced a partnership with Adyen, the first payments partner behind Tabs Pay. The goal is simple: give finance teams one platform to bill customers and get paid, with the payment infrastructure to support complex, growing businesses.

Why finance teams need payments connected to billing

When payments live apart from billing, teams lose visibility. A failed payment may not be linked to the right invoice. A refund may sit in a processor dashboard while the customer record shows it as open. Payouts arrive without a clear match to the invoices they settle. Each handoff adds manual work and delays cash.

Tabs Pay addresses this by running payments on the same contract, invoice, and customer record that drive billing and revenue. Finance teams see what a customer owes, how they’re paying, and when the cash arrives, all in one place.

How Tabs Pay connects payments to the invoice

Tabs Pay lets customers pay by card or ACH directly from the invoices merchants send in Tabs. Bank accounts are verified instantly, so customers aren’t waiting on microdeposits to complete a payment. Saved payment methods can support autocharge, and failed payments are retried automatically, with each retry tied back to the original invoice.

Merchants also manage the full payment lifecycle in Tabs. They can view transaction details, issue full or partial refunds, manage disputes, and track payouts next to the invoices they belong to. Settled funds are sent to the merchant’s bank account on a daily payout schedule.

Why Tabs chose Adyen as the first payments partner behind Tabs Pay

Tabs selected Adyen as the first payments partner behind Tabs Pay because of its enterprise-grade infrastructure that supports faster payments at scale, as well as its reputation as a reliable, global, trusted processor. Adyen supports the capabilities Tabs Pay relies on, including instant bank verification powered by Plaid, tokenization, split payments, payouts, and reporting. Adyen’s hosted components also allow Tabs to deliver a seamless single-dashboard experience within the Tabs platform while keeping sensitive card data within Adyen’s PCI Level 1 environment.

Adyen’s platform also gives Tabs merchants room to grow, as they expand globally. Today, Adyen processes $1.6T in annual volume for 8,000+ merchants across 130 countries.

What merchants can do with Tabs Pay today

Merchants using Tabs Pay can accept card and ACH payments in one checkout, verify bank accounts instantly, and save payment methods for autocharge. They can view payment status on each invoice, issue refunds, manage disputes, and follow each payment through to payout without logging in to a separate processor.

Pricing is based on each merchant’s volume and card mix. Tabs reviews processing history and offers a flat or custom rate, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all rate.
